Water Damage Signs
1/3/2024 (Permalink)
Sometimes it is essential to inspect our properties, homes, offices, apartments, etc.
Here are signs you should check if there's some water damage early on:
1. Changes in floors, walls, and ceilings regarding paint, color, or texture
Many homeowners don't notice the changes to structural elements. They are hard to spot in familiar surroundings, even if you are good at cleaning up and upkeep; when water damage is on the cards, you can observe dry walls or ceilings being flaky. This condition, if left unchecked, can become bloated; also, tiles made of ceramic material often develop mold and cracks in the grout when damaged by water for being a porous material.
2. Running water sounds
Water damage isn't always visible but makes noticeable sounds. For example, drips creaks in the floorboards, and the sound of constantly running water may signify that you need repairs. In addition, tiny bubbles can result in holes in your concrete foundation, threatening the entire home's structure.
3. Increasing water bills
A sudden surge in utility bills is an excellent indicator of water damage. Ensure to check the visible pipelines and faucets in the house for any leaks. If you fail to find leaks in the visual areas, consider the possibility of water damage within the walls. If you spot any water damage, call a plumber as soon as possible.
